COMPATIBILITY
Compatible with Salomon QST Pro Ski Boots
Tech / ISO 9523 Ski Boot Soles

The Tecnica Zero G Tour Scout Alpine Touring Ski Boots take the place of last season's Zero G Guide in the lineup, and aim for better pure touring performance (as opposed to "crossover" performance). Lighter, arguably stiffer, and with a redesigned walk mode and non-replaceable ISO 9523 sole, the Tour Scout looks to be a "best buy" in the sub-1500 gram touring boot segment, and seems assured of a "best skiing touring boot" award as the season progresses.

The Atomic Backland Sport Alpine Touring Ski Boots take everything great about the new Backland boots and substitutes polyurethane for the lighter polyamide in the shell and cuff and dispenses with the fancy Boa lower closure system. The result is a super functional light touring boot that still ticks the 1200 gram mark but leaves you with money left over for necessities like skis and skins.

Flex
Flex: 100 – A medium flex for intermediate to advanced skiers.
Liner
My CustomFit 3D Liner – Superior heel hold and new anti-packing foam.
Shell Materials & Design
Twinframe2 Design – Delivers improved rebound and dynamic flex, while oversized pivot provides efficient transmission. Salomon dials in just the right amount of rigidity where it's needed for performance and leaves the shell softer in other areas to enhance comfort and ease of entry.
Endofit Tongue – Thanks to a revolutionary inside overlap tongue construction, the forefoot areas are perfectly wrapped when closing the 2 front buckles.
Sensifit Shell – Strong and light shell design built with thinner walls to reduce weight, reinforced in strategic areas with ribs to avoid blowing out the shell when flexing forward on hard turns.
Shell – Polyurethane
Cuff – Mono-Material Polypropylene

Maximum cuff release for touring and secure lock for skiing down. Horizontal positioning for mechanical reliability. Independent from the cuff buckle for more convenience when touring.

The Tecnica Zero G Tour Alpine Touring Ski Boots are a great choice for backcountry skiers who don't need the stiffest, baddest boot around for downhill performance, while maintaining some of the best uphill capability in the biz. The 110 flex is an ideal all-mountain option with plenty of power for a wide variety of in-bounds and backcountry conditons, and the boot is light enough for full day touring trips or even multi-day expeditions. Tecnica s redesign of the Zero G boot lineup means the boots are aimed more at pure touring applications and less at "crossover" users, so if you intend to spend more than half your time riding the lifts in your boots one of the Cochise models may be a better choice.

Tecnica s done a complete re-design of their popular Zero G boot line, and the Tecnica Zero G Tour W Alpine Touring Ski Boots lead the charge on the women's side with lighter weight, a better walk mode, and surprisingly increased stiffness for the descent. They accomplish all this with a full time ISO 9523 Vibram sole, a new walk mode lever with two engagement points, and redesigned ultralight magnesium buckles, among other things. Bottom line: The Zero G Tour W has become less of a "crossover" boot and morphed into a true touring boot that happens to ski really really, really well.

One of the burliest boots out there that you will still be happy to hike and skin in, the Tecnica Cochise 130 DYN Alpine Touring Ski Boots keeps on getting better through small but well thought out changes. One of the few "crossover" boots that ships with an ISO 5355 alpine sole and tech fittings, the Cochise 130 lets you use alpine, demo and tech bindings without worrying about whether they will fit. For a boot that rips as hard as this, the tour mode is remarkably efficient, so you'll have smile on your face both going up and down.

Liner
C.A.S. Ultrafit Pro Liner – Thin and responsive pre-formed liner offers superior performance and fit. Uses a microcell material that is pre-shaped to the anatomy of the foot. The microcell is also easy to customize and has a low pack-out rate over time.
C.A.S. Liner Technology – C.A.S. Technology focuses on the critical fit areas of the foot to achieve an accurate anatomical shape using dual density pre-shaped thermoformed microcell material. This provides a great out-of-the-box fit for enhanced sensitivity and power transmission all while allowing for liner customization.

Lighter and stiffer than the already high performance Tour W, the Tecnica Zero G Tour Scout W Alpine Touring Ski Boots are designed for the woman pushing the limits on both the up and the down. With a Grilamid lower shell and a flex of 115, this boot skis as well or better than most performance alpine boots and still smokes the skintrack. More of a pure touring boot than last season's top Zero G women's offering, the Tour Scout W now has a lighter, non-replaceable ISO 9523 sole with real Vibram rubber, lighter magnesium buckles, and an ingenious new walk lever with two engagement points which adds to both security and downhill performance.

A freeride touring boot for lighter or less agressive skiers, the Atomic Hawx Ultra XTD 100 Alpine Touring Ski Boots retain the same great shell design and mechanicals of the stiffer Hawx Ultra XTD models, with a softer overall flex and slightly higher weight. This is a great skiing boot for those with narrower feet, and if you never used the touring mode at all you'd still be stoked - but when time comes for that epic tour or the spring volcano season arrives and your friends want to head out, you'll be even more stoked.

The ultimate one-quiver hybrid boot, the Cochise 120 DYN with Grip Walk boasts all of the performance of the 130, with a slightly softer flex. The polyether Power Light Design shell is 30 percent thinner and more than twice as stiff as conventional boot materials, allowing you to go faster, higher, and farther with less effort. The Self Adjusting Cuff Mobility System offers an impressive 42-degree range of motion for hiking and when paired with Dynafit Tech inserts, light touring. On the downhill, the Cochise 120 DYN GW transforms into a rocket-fire, high-performance alpine boot. The anatomically shaped liner fits surprisingly well out of the box, but if needed, your bootfitter can utilize Tecnica's C.A.S. technology to punch, grind, and thermo-mold for a truly custom fit. Bottom line: The Cochise 120 DYN GW is the go-to for modern skiers who want the performance of an alpine boot with the conveniences of a touring boot.

Tecnica made a decision to abandon the "crossover" boot direction with their Zero G boot line for 2019 ("Hey, we already make the Cochise") and instead aim at making them pure touring boots that emphasized precise and powerful downhill capabilities. Once again, the Tecnica Zero G Tour Pro Alpine Touring Ski Boots defy stereotyping - they ski better than ever with a more positive locking mechanism at the rear and yet are approximately 200 grams lighter. The 99mm lasted shell fits almost identically to the older model, but the boot is more positive and secure during hard flexing. Other changes include a non-replaceable ISO 9523 sole with genuine Vibram rubber, new lighter magnesium buckles with the toe buckle inverted, and a Light Lock Power Strap that takes it's clever design from the Mach 1 series, making power strap adjustments during transitions a snap.

If you thought the Atomic Backland boots were awesome before, this is the year to be amazed all over again. The totally re-designed Atomic Backland Pro Alpine Touring Ski Boots feature a new minimalist polyamide shell and Boa Fit System that lets you adjust the fit of the lower boot on the fly with a twist of a dial. Standout features of the old Backland boots remain - the smooth and long-wearing Igus polymer cuff pivots and Free / Lock 4.0 walk mode have changed little, but they were dialed before. Key improvements include an even more comfortable liner and a beefier cinch type power strap.

Atomic totally redesigned the Backland boot series for 2020, and the new Atomic Backland Pro W Alpine Touring Ski Boots are the result. Gone is the fiddly cable tensioning system of the original boot, replaced with a slick Boa adjuster that tightens with a twist of the wrist and loosens with an upward pull. The bomber frictionless Igus cuff pivots remain, as does the Free / Lock walk mode lever which proved utterly reliable. Other improvements include a stouter cinch-type power strap and more comfortable liner.

3M Thinsulate™ Insulation – Keeps feet warm and responsive even in extremely cold and damp conditions.
Shell Materials
Prolite – Instead of starting with a standard construction and cutting material away to save weight, Prolite does the opposite. It starts with the slimmest possible profile and then builds up reinforcements in key areas where strength is needed - like the Energy Backbone down each boot spine.
Energy Backbone – A reinforced, asymmetric backbone providing extra strength for powerful skiing plus enhanced lateral energy transmission for better edge grip.
Shell – Polyamide
Cuff – Polyurethane

A superb touring boot that happens to have enough guts to rip the ski area as well, the Salomon S/Lab MTN Alpine Touring Ski Boots have garnered a big following among patrollers and "quiver of one" backcountry nuts since their introduction. As of last year, the S/Lab MTN also features Custom Shell HD heat molding capability, so a lot of the guess work has gone out of the fit process and the relatively narrow 98 mm last can be made to fit most average width feet without fuss. With its super clean and minimalist design and reputation for reliability, this is a top choice for those looking for a powerful touring boot that's also suitable for big days in the backcountry.
